Yes — fully offline once installed. Flights, commutes, the back of the car, the kids' iPad in the kitchen. Solo play, Daily Challenge, Pass & Play (one device), and Learning Mode all work with airplane mode on. Network Play is the only mode that needs WiFi (because it connects two devices).

Friendly mode removes penalties so wrong answers don't sting. Every event ends with a short explanation, so kids actually learn the history behind each one. Pass & Play turns one phone into a 2–6 player game — no extra devices, no setup.
You don't pick A, B, C, or D — you place each event in its actual position on a timeline. Get it close to the right year, score high. Get it far off, score low. Multiple choice lets you guess; this makes you commit to what you actually know. It's the closest digital experience to the Timeline board game, but with 1,200+ events that grow every month instead of 55 cards in a box.
You'll learn faster than you'll lose. Friendly mode has no penalties for wrong answers — pick it for relaxed play. Every event you misplace shows you the correct year and a short explanation, so the wrong answers are where most of the learning happens. Turn on Learning Mode and the game uses spaced repetition: the events you struggle with come back more often until you master them.
Yes — through your iPhone's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Cancel and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. We never see your payment details — Apple handles every transaction. Lifetime is also available if you'd rather pay once and never think about it again.
