Frequently Asked Questions

What is Sorting History?

A history trivia game where you place events on a timeline in the correct order. Instead of picking A, B, C, or D, you drag events into chronological position — the closer you get, the more points you earn. 12 categories at launch with two new ones added every month.

Is Sorting History free?

Yes. Download for free and play 8 categories with ads. You can also unlock any category for 1 hour by watching a single ad. Explorer and Historian remove all ads and unlock every category permanently. Pay monthly, annually, or once for lifetime access.

Is this game good for families with kids?

Absolutely. Friendly scoring mode removes penalties for wrong answers, making it great for younger players. Every event includes a short explanation after you place it, so kids learn the history behind each answer. No violence, no mature content — designed to be educational and fun for all ages.

Can teachers use this in classrooms?

Yes. Network Play connects multiple devices over local WiFi for classroom competitions. Select specific categories to match your curriculum and set the game length to fit your class period. Network Play is free for everyone.

How do new categories work?

Two new categories release every month — one every two weeks. One chosen by community vote, one by the Sorting History team. Vote after every game. All tiers get access on release day. Subscribers play ad-free, free players unlock new categories for 1 hour with an ad.

What is the Daily Challenge?

Every day, Sorting History gives you a new challenge — 4 events in a surprise category. Sort them into chronological order in under 5 minutes. It's the same challenge for everyone, so you can compare with friends!

Does the game repeat the same events?

Sorting History uses smart content recycling. Events you get wrong come back more often to help you learn. Events you've mastered appear less frequently. The more you play, the smarter the game gets at challenging you.

How many events are there?

Over 1,200 events at launch across 12 categories, with new events added every month. Your categories keep growing — you'll see a notification when fresh events arrive.

What devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS 15.0 or later.
